Here Comes the Sun... (3)

Day 3
The past couple of days have been pretty rainy and cold, but my school wasted no time in planting flowers throughout campus as soon as March 21st rolled around.  I picked this one, but it broke off at the stem too high up, so instead of putting it in a vase, I cut it even closer to the top and put it in here.
Even though they're not my favorite (Sunflowers are), I always loved these kinds of flowers when I was a kid, and my dad used to tell me they were called Easter Lilies,  (They're not...but they grow right around Easter, so the name is pretty fitting) so that's what I still call them.
I know that it's snowing in some places today, which is pretty sad considering April is in a week.  Hopefully Spring will show its face soon!
What are your favorite flowers?  Is the weather nice where you're at?

Lilacs and Jasmine are both amazing - I love how they both smell!
And I agree - I can't wait for warm weather either!

  3. Beautiful! I like Memory Keeper's Daughter so far. I just read White Oleander, which was exceptionally well written and heavy...so I think I'm still coming down from that.

  4. Thanks :)
And I'll have to pick it up at the school library after I'm finished with Anna Karenina (not a difficult read, per se, but it's taking me forever) - hopefully they'll have it!
I haven't heard of White Oleander. I'll have to check that out as well
    Thanks again :)

  5. I love that it's floating like that. Prettier than a vase! :)

  6. Thanks Kelly :) I actually only did that because when I picked the flower, I picked it too far up, so the stem was too short to put in a vase. So instead of picking another flower, I just did that. :)
    Thanks for commenting!
