Weekly Gratitude

I know, I know - I've been slacking lately.  I think it's been a couple weeks since I've written a gratitude post, and even though I'm feeling pretty gross and not thankful for anything right now, I want to make this list. (good karma, right?)

*Friends.  I have been stuck in the house for a week, and talking to friends has made that less reminiscent of what Emily Dickinson's life was probably like.*

*Soup!  It has become a staple in my diet over the past few days since I can't really eat much else*

*Gilmore Girls.  And the fact that I own every season.*

*Really good books that I could read a hundred times and still love.  Like Practical Magic*, for instance.*

*I saw the movie before I read the book.  I know - sacrilege!  But as a child, it was the movie my best friend and I watched at every single sleep over, and I think it's safe to say that that movie is what cemented my love of Nicole Kidman.  

But we were always book lovers, both of us, and so when we found it that it was a book first we of course had to read it. And read it again, and again, and again. I love the idea of magic like that, but that's a story for another time.

Prom and Other Springy Things

Last night was my brother's Junior Prom, and I got to go along to take photos of him, his date, and their friends before they left. 

So of course, I couldn't resist a shot or two of him getting ready...

For some reason, I really liked the idea of a picture like this (I'm probably just weird...)

I also have a love of black and white photos/candid photos - which makes this one of my favorite photos from the day (although half of them are smiling and watching the camera lens) 

And his bootaneer (how do you spell that?).  

I'm weary of putting photos of other people on my blog - especially people who aren't my family, so that's all from that :)

In some other news - because I haven't been keeping up with my 365 over the past couple of weeks (finals and being sick have made that kind of difficult), I think that I'm going to restart the project in June.  (Hopefully by then this thing will have run its course)  What do you guys think?

Happy Mother's Day

I know I promised to start posting regularly now that I'm home.

Here's the thing, though - I'm pretty sick.  The day after I got home I started feeling the symptoms, and I went to the Dr. yesterday.  Therefore, I haven't been out of the house at all.  In fact, I've spent the majority of my day attempting to sleep it off.

Sorry :(  Hopefully all will be well soon, and I'll be able to leave the couch/my bed and take some pictures!

A Free Moment...or Two

Hello lovelies, I'm so sorry I haven't posted anything all week.  It's been finals week, and let me tell you - Economics is a terrifying subject.  

However, I took my last final (I don't think you can even call it that - it was Creative Writing. We turned in one more piece of writing and she provided food) this morning, and am now sitting in my near-empty room amidst boxes and packed bags.  And in a couple of hours, I will be home and it will be summer.  (Although I won't officially consider it that until I get my grades for the semester and can stop freaking out about them)

How about you loves?  Are you ready for the summer - what are your plans?  I'd love to hear all about them!!
