Apples (31)

Right now, I am eating a small yellow apple.  Whole.
I think I've mentioned before that I never eat large/hard fruits whole.
(I didn't mean to - really.  I was just admiring the yellow of the apple and how pretty it was...and then I bit into it, because it looked so good.  Even though red tastes better)
Well, in the future, I will stick to my self-made fruit-consumption rules.
I ate the apple whole, and now I am regretting it.
It hurts.
Just as I suspected it would.
Do you have any strange food habits or rules?

Spring Nights (30)

It's nights like these that I'll miss over the summer :)
About ten of us that live on my floor went out and sat in front of our building for a couple of hours tonight, and I think I took at least 100 photos!
It was such a gorgeous night out, and in a week, about half of us will already be home, and the rest of us will be busy studying for/taking finals and packing to go home.
What did you do tonight, loves?  Are you enjoying the weather?

Spring is in the Air (29)

The past two days have been absolutely gorgeous, and despite my terrible allergies, I've been trying to spend as much time as possible outside enjoying it!  The school's campus is beautiful, and in a couple of weeks, I'll be back home which, although it has its well-kept secrets, is not as lovely.
Today, I spent most of my time out on the quad (albeit, working on class work.  But at least I was outside) when I wasn't in the quad or in direct need of the internet/printer.

This quote is written on the wall at the front entrance to the Communications building at my school, and I love it!  It's been there for a couple of days now, and today I finally took my camera with me to class so that I could get a photo.  (My opinion may be biased because of my love of the Beatles....but that's okay, right?)
This is a photo which I've been wanting to take all semester, and for some reason never got around to.  But today, my friends and I were sitting in the quad right next to it, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to run over (barefoot) and take a few pictures.
And this right here is the tree who's shade I sat under for a few hours of my day today, working on Italian homework with friends. :)  Pretty, right?  The building behind it is where I'll be spending a large portion of the next three years of my life, and also houses the "bells" which play Here Comes the Sun in the Spring, and the bells every hour throughout the day.

So how about you, loves?  Did you enjoy the weather today?

Weekly Gratitude (28)

It is officially the last week of classes for my Freshman year.  I don't know how I feel about that...mainly because I don't feel anything about it, because I haven't come to terms with it yet. This year just honestly went so soo fast, and I can't believe it's over already.  A lot is going to be changing as of next Friday - a lot of people I know transferring.  New roommate next year.  Officially taking all classes for my major (Marketing) and my minor (Communications) --
Pre-Reqs so that I can officially enroll in the programs.
Right now though, I'm trying to just concentrate on all the papers I have to write and finals I have to study for, and next Friday I'll start freaking out about oh my God my freshman year is over this is crazy how am I so old soon I'm gonna be graduating and the real world and oh my God oh my God **cue hyperventilating/complete mental breakdown**
Breathe Kiersten
So, here's Day 28....before you say it, I know - worst 365 photo ever.  I almost completely forgot a photo today, and - I know this is lazy - I lack the motivation to get out my camera and find something to photograph at 10pm.  Don't hate me?

Playing Catch-Up (26 and 27)

Happy Easter, loves!!  I hope you all had a wonderful day off to spend with family and friends!

I went to brunch with a friend of mine from high-school, her parents and a couple of their neighbors today.  It was nice to get to see her and catch up.  (Plus it made me even more excited to be home in two weeks for the summer!)

And after that, I went to my grandparents' house with my dad and brother for dinner, which was also nice getting to see family for a few hours, before heading back to the dorm. :)

How were your weekends, loves?  I'd love to hear all about it!!

And now, to make up for not being around for a few days, here are a bunch of photos I took over the weekend!!

Last night, my parents, brother and I dyed eggs together.  There were actually two-dozen of them total, but this is only the one case :)

Before that though, my brother and I went to Rita's to get water-ice. :)  He wouldn't let me take any pictures of him and his gelatti, but these are some pictures from around the Rita's itself since we ate it there.

And then these are some photos from today at my grandparents' house
Of course, it rained for part of the day today, and I love photos after/during the rain <3
And finally, of course, my 365 photos from the weekend:  Days 26 and 27:
(Sorry for the insane amount of photos - I hope you at least enjoyed looking at them!
Happy Easter, everyone!!

A Somewhat-Break

Hello loves - I'm sorry I never posted yesterday, and to be honest, I won't really be posting today.
I'm reaching the end of the semester - next week is the last week of classes, which means I'm writing multiple 10-page research papers, studying for last-tests-before-finals, and preparing myself to freak out next week over studying for finals.  This is what I do in the last 3 weeks of school - I forget that things outside of school and classes and papers exist, and I spent most of my time stressing.

Breathe

So, here is what I'm going to do - I love this blog too much to say that I'm not going to write for 3 weeks - mainly because I know myself:  a day will come when I say to myself "I can NOT study this anymore right now." And then I will sneak away from my stressed out self and type blogspot.com into the search bar, and I will miss this.

So I'm going to say that the next 3 weeks won't be regular - I am going to post sometimes, but it won't be every day.  And I promise you that come the end of the first week of May, and the beginning of my 4 months of summer, I will be back to posting "regularly".

For now - since I'm here - here are my Wednesday Wishes
     * I wish to not stress out the way that I always do at the end of the semester/year
     * I wish for more warm days like today was (78 degrees here, loves!!)
     * I wish for some scholarly sources on Harry Potter's effect on my generation
     * I wish for chocolate, Chinese food, and Pepsi

Okay, for now I'm done - to go write some more about Harry Potter and Event Planning.  I'll be back soonish (I hope)

Of Term Papers and Format Standards (25)

I spent about 90% of my day today researching/writing a paper for my micro-economics class.  (The other 10% was spent going to class, eating, and procrastinating via Facebook and Blogger)  This book is the APA Publication Manual, which lists all the standards for writing a paper in APA format - over the next three years and beyond, I'm supposed to learn and love it.

Converse (24)

These are the shoes I wore to DayGlow last night.  I don't know about where you guys are...but here in PA, it was a torrential downpour.  And Converse shrink when they get wet.  My friend and I both wore them, and now, almost 24 hours later, they're still soaked.  So before throwing them away, I took a couple of photos.
The concert itself was a lot of fun - the whole day was, even with all the rain!
My camera died pretty early on in the night, but I did manage to get a couple of photos before we got to the concert - on the way there. :)
How was your weekend, loves?  I'd love to hear all about it!

All the Colors of the Rainbow (23)

Okay, that's false advertising.  This photo is nowhere near "all the colors of the rainbow", but I thought the title was somewhat fitting.
Today is the concert we're going to, and we're actually leaving in about a hour, which is why I'm posting this now.
Also, I think that this week I'm going to try out having a "theme" for days of the week.  If I like it, I'll keep doing it.  But my problem is, I'm out of ideas!  I've stalked other blogs for ideas, and here's what I have:
Monday:  Weekly Gratitude (from Love, Life, Lace)
Tuesday:  To-Do List?  Not really sure about this one yet, but I'd talk about my Bucket List...
Wednesday:  Wishful Wednesday  (idea from Bright Wishes)
Thursday:  Awkward and Awesome  (idea from Alivia)
Friday: ??
Saturday: ???
Sunday:  I'm thinking goals for the week...not sure about this one yet
Any ideas??
Anyway, have a great weekend everyone!  I can't wait to hear all about it :)

Find a Penny (22)

Pick it up, all day you'll have good luck.
Today was pretty cold again.  I think for a while it's going to be one warm day, a few cold days, and then another warm day.  Hopefully it'll get warm for the long-term soon though :)
I spent most of the day in my room listening to music.  Pandora is my best friend sometimes, even if it does come up with some pretty strange matches  (Eminem "Love the Way You Lie" when I type in Maroon 5??)  But then it has some good matches, and those are what I love about it <3
Tomorrow I'm going to a concert with some of my friends, so that should be fun! :)  I'm not bringing my Monster Baby, because...well...I think that's obvious enough.  But I'll be bringing my point-and-shoot, which doesn't exactly take the best photos, but oh well.

1000 Cranes for Japan (21)

The weather reached back up into the 70s today, and it's gorgeous outside, a fact which plenty of campus groups took advantage of.  I was in the quad for a bake sale to raise money for the school literary magazine, which I am a member of.
On my way back from the bake sale, I was stopped and asked to make a paper cranes.  A few people on campus got together and set up this thing to make 1000 paper cranes for Japan.
They weren't all quite as intricate as this one ^^, but they were fun to make.
And the one guy who seemed to be in charge of it was running around teaching us all how to make the cranes while the others tried to get people to stop.
And, of course, here's Day 21
Moral of the day?  Go outside and enjoy the weather :)
I'd love to see some photos of where you're at, or hear about your day!

April Showers (20)

     Day 20
After the gorgeous weather we had yesterday, with a cap of about 80 degrees for most of the day, today seemed almost cruel.  It was probably low 60's, which isn't bad for this time of year, but the rain and wind made it miserable.  A day where all I want to do is lie in bed with my slippers on.
Tomorrow is going to be the same way apparently, but the good news is that it's supposed to stop raining and warm up a bit at the end of the week! :)
In other news related to the season, it's spring, which means Spring Cleaning.  I've always loved the idea of Spring Cleaning, and the nice weather usually motivates me to straighten stuff up and get rid of those things that are clearly of no use.  Because Easter is in a couple of weeks (and summer a couple of weeks after that - meaning it's time to move out for college students like myself), I'm going to be packing up that stuff that I can live a couple of weeks without and taking it home over the holiday weekend.  How about you?  Are you doing any Spring Cleaning around your house, apartment, or dorm room?

Happy Saturday (18)

This morning, my roommate and I went into town for breakfast since it's a tour day and the dining hall is most likely flooded with people.  On the way back, we stopped in a wonderful little Italian market, and I just had to buy one of these.
Kiersten, you don't need a canoli...you know it's not necessary that you spend $2.50 on that.
But it's only $2.50....and it probably tastes so good....
Well...I caved and bought the canoli after a good 3 minutes of internal dialogue.  And let me tell you, it is well worth the $2.50 - so so so good!
Later today, I'll be seeing a couple of friends from high-school who are on campus today - I'm pretty excited for that! :)
What are you loves up to this weekend?  Anything fun and exciting?  I'd love to hear about it!!

Tye-Dye!! (17)

Today was the tye-dye social on my floor (something which I was doing for the first time), and I'm a total mess with arts-and-crafts type deals.   My feet were the worst of what I did, but you can't see the bottoms in this photo - they were covered in red tye-dye paint!!  I made a total of 5 shirts - 3 tye-dye, 2 splatter paint. :)
I believe this was the first shirt I tye-dyed - I ended up adding much more color!
How did you all spend your Friday?  I hope you had a wonderful one!!
Happy weekend everyone!!!

Innovation! (16)

Now I know what you're probably thinking - Who eats their pears with a spoon???  Well readers, somehow we have no knives in our room, aside from plastic ones, which aren't going to actually cut a pear.  So I chose the next best thing - a spoon.  (it works pretty well in my opinion)  I know that the reasonable thing to do in this case would be to eat the pear whole, but I have some sort of issue with eating fruits whole - my apples and pears and such have to be cut, or I won't eat them.
In other news, today is Thursday.  I've been thinking recently that I should have a specific thing for each day, like how I do Thankful Mondays.  Any suggestions?

Happy Hump Day (15)

This is my teddy bear that I've had since I was born, and the pillow behind him (the small pillow, that is) is the first one I made - I made it in my Fashion Design class my senior year of high-school.  (Okay, first doesn't make it so special, considering it's only one of about four or five...)
I know this is a pretty lousy photo, and what's worse - it was taken on my cell phone!!  I'm sorry :(  I think I want to make a point of not only using my Canon for this 365 project, so that means crappy point-and-shoot and cell-phone pictures as well :)
Happy Mid-Week everyone!!  Are you ready for the weekend?  I know I am...

What Are You Thankful For? (14)

It went up to a high of 76 today, and I'm loving it!  I really hope it stays like this for a while.  :)
For the past hour or so, some friends and I have been sitting out on the front lawn of our dorm building, and this is a picture I took of one of the trees in front of our dorm.  I was home all weekend, and when I came back last night, the trees had sprouted these buds. It makes me smile. :)

Take a Walk (13)

(Just as a warning before you start - this is a somewhat lengthy post.  But there are photos, and that helps, right?)

By some miracle, it was in the high 50's today, and it didn't rain at all; so my brother and I went for a walk on a nearby trail, and took a bunch of photos.

Okay, these first two were taken in my backyard...
I love flats :)

This is my brother on what used to be a railroad, and is now just a dilapidated bridge at the back of the trail.
My rain boots - as uncomfortable as they are, they're a wonderful thing to have!!
My brother - Corey - took this photo of me on top of the bridge.
(I've always been afraid of heights, and for that reason every time I go to the trail, I make myself climb on top of the bridge.  I'm always afraid to be climbing up there, and once I'm up there and I look down from an area where the bars have fallen, I'm even more terrified - as irrational as it is since I know I won't fall.  I love the view, but I'm so scared the entire time I'm looking down.  All I need to do is think about how high I am off the ground, see how tiny the people on the ground appear, or glance down and it's enough to leave me freaking out.  "What if I fall?  What if I trip and slip off the edge?"  And then I'll kick a rock off the side of the ledge, just to see quite how high off the ground I am, which is enough to freak me out more.
But somehow, I still love being up there, and I love roller coasters and the idea of being able to fly.  I'm crazy.)
 ...And this one
And this one of me coming back down... (equally as terrifying, once I begin to realize how high I was)
And finally, here's Day 13
Another photo of Corey on the bridge, this time in black & white.
I've been walking on this trail for years now, and today when we got there, we were greeted by CAT trucks and barriers.  They'd knocked down the trees that used to block the entrance, and I'm not sure what they plan on doing next, but I really hope they don't destroy the trail.  It's not the nicest place, but I love walking back there when it gets nice out like it was today.
I really hope it stays like this now that it's finally started - I love this time of year - the warm weather and the trees/flowers growing.  I can finally smell spring in the air!
How were your weekends, loves?  Did you do anything exciting with your sunny Sunday?  I'd love to hear all about it!
